National Reporter

The National Reporter commenced publication in 1973. The series contains all of the decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada, all of the decisions of the Federal Court of Appeal, plus selected decisions of the Court Martial Appeal Court, and starting in 1985 selected decisions from the United Kingdom Supreme Court and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The series also includes the disposition of all motions for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. The approximate number of volumes per year is 15.

The decisions of the Supreme Court of Canada are received and published in both English and French. Some of the decisions of the Federal Court of Appeal are received in both languages and are published in both languages. All headnotes and indexing are in English.

Starting January 1, 1997 the National Reporter database includes unedited cases that would ordinarily be unreported.
